Michael Jackson Estate, Cirque Du Soleil Unite For Groundbreaking Tour

Michael Jackson’s immense legend continues to tower. According to the estate of the best-selling artist of all-time, the King of Pop will be the center of a series of high profile productions developed by world-renown dance and acrobatics troupe Cirque du Soleil.
The unprecedented arrangement of events will be based on the classic music of Jackson, with the first project being an arena-touring show in which fans will be able to experience the excitement of a Michael Jackson concert.
The late fall 2011 spectacle will also be featured in Las Vegas in conjunction with longtime Cirque du Soleil partner MGM Mirage.
“Having attended performances with Michael, I know he was a huge fan,” co-executor for the estate of Michael Jackson John Branca said in a statement. “We are excited to be partners with Cirque du Soleil to give Michael’s fans a truly unique way to hear, see and feel Michael’s music,”
This is not the first time Cirque du Soleil has created a show for a legendary music icon. Both Elvis and the Beatles have been featured in critically-acclaimed projects. But Branca promises the Jackson event will reach for new artistic heights.
“This will not just be a tribute to Michael’s musical genius, but a live entertainment experience that uses the most advanced technology to push every creative boundary as Michael always did.”
